Rachel Spoto started skating at the age of 6. Her passion was the ice and she spent almost 20 years dedicating her time to the sport. She worked with high level American coaches that trained alongside skaters like Dorothy Hamill. Rachel has competed in many statewide and regional competitions and has knowledge through the Gold test level (Senior Level). Teaching for about 10 years, Rachel is eager to pass her love of skating on to her students. She is a member of USFSA, Basic Skills, is CER tested in the Professional Skating Association and runs the Basic Skills program at Pines Ice Arena. She is also a USFSA board member for the Pines Figure Skating Club at Pines Ice Arena. Rachel teaches all levels of skating from tots through advanced figure skating with students passing USFSA test. In 2007 she was featured in the Sun Sentinel as coach of the month at Pines Ice Arena. Rachel’s expertise includes freestyle skating (jumps and spins), moves in the field, choreography, off ice training as well as training for competitions and shows. Rachel has been the Figure Skating Director at Pines Ice Arena since 2007 and her love for the sport continues to grow.
